Upcoming 100GW Event

One Hundred Good Women Annual
Clothing Exchange

Sunday, March 29, 2009
1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Steve’s Place, 1388 N 1293 Rd.
(SE corner of 31st & Louisiana)

What, pray tell, is a Clothing Exchange?
It’s a fabulous and fun way to rid your overflowing closet of those articles of clothing you no longer wear but are in still in great condition and someone ought to have them.
You bring those articles to Steve’s Place on the 29th on the day of the event
and we price them at $1 each.
Then, you have the opportunity to purchase other clothing articles and fill up the void in your closet!!

Tell me more, you say??!!

What kind of clothing are you looking for?
Gently used, still in good condition.  The kind you would give to your best friend.
Please, no underwear (unless the tag is still on) or children’s clothing.
Men’s clothing will be fine.

Who gets to come to the Clothing Exchange?
Members, their friends, family members, work mates, etc.
However, although we encourage membership for our male counterparts, we do not encourage them to attend this event as there will be an opportunity to try on clothes in a group dressing room.
Also, we would appreciate it if children are left home.  We want you all to have adult fun with your girlfriends.

Can I bring stuff in a big bag, hand my bag off to someone
...... and then shop, shop, shop?

We ask that the articles arrive on hangers, ready to go.
If you do forget, we ask that you take a few minutes when you arrive and hang them up at the door (we may have a few hangers on hand).
Then you can shop, shop, shop.

Can I bring clothes in advance?
Unfortunately, no.  We do not have any place to store clothes before hand.

If I can’t stay can I just drop things off the day of, then?
Yes,  as long as they are on hangers.  This event has gotten very popular and at times, chaotic (which can add to the fun).  Our volunteers may not have the opportunity to hang them up for you and then your clothes may stay sitting on the floor, lonely, and none of us will get to enjoy them.

What if I don’t have clothes to donate?
Can I still come and shop and visit?

Absolutely!!  Please come and share in the fun.

What happens to the left over clothes at the end of the day?
We are happy to announce that Starving Artists Moving will load them up and take them to Penn House where they will be offered free of charge to people in need.

Most importantly, will there be chocolate?
Of course!!  Chocolate and wine – or  tea if you prefer.  And, because our board member, Mikell, worries that we are eating and drinking sugar, she always makes sure we have plenty of cheese, crackers and fruit on hand too.

Can we bring anything?
Yes!, as a matter of fact, you can.  Please bring something to donate to ECKAN – any non-perishable food item, paper goods (such as toilet paper, paper towels, etc.), cleaning supplies, etc.  We will accept donations that day.

Can I help in any way?
We do need volunteers for set up and tear down the day of.  If you are interested in getting there an hour early and/or staying an hour late, or if you have any other questions, please e-mail jennie@sunflower.com or call 785-841-3453.

Mark it on your calendars right now!!
We can’t wait to see you.
